Kazi Nazrul Islam (RDP)
Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport (RDP), Durgapur (IATA: RDP, ICAO: VEDG), a project under Bengal Aerotropolis Projects Limited (BAPL), is a domestic airport located at Durgapur – Andal, Paschim Bardhaman in West Bengal of India.
The airport is roughly 25 km from Asansol’s City Bus Terminus and 15 km from Durgapur’s City Centre in West Bengal, India. The airport’s hinterland comprises the towns of Burdwan, Bankura, Bishnupur, Purulia, Suri, Bolpur/Shantiniketan, Rampurhat in South Bengal and Dhanbad & Bokaro in Jharkhand. It is part of the country’s first private sector Aerotropolis, developed by Bengal Aerotropolis Projects Limited (BAPL).

WBIDC: West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (WBIDC) was formed in 1967 and is the premier nodal agency of West Bengal’s Industries, Commerce Enterprises Department. It is responsible for conceptualizing, development, growth and facilitation of industry, investment and infrastructure in West Bengal. Over the years the corporation has been actively engaged in catalyzing investment through promotion and marketing of West Bengal as an investment destination. WBIDC provides support to industries through four ways – Facilitation, Financing, Disbursing Incentives, and by Setting up Industrial Parks. WBIDC also makes regular interaction with various Chambers of Commerce at national and international level to promote different activities.
BAPL has signed a joint venture development agreement with West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation Limited (WBIDC) for developing India’s first private Greenfield Aerotropolis at Durgapur-Asansol Region (Burdwan) district of West Bengal. WBDIC has recently increased its stake in our project to 26%, which has been an honourable win for us!
